The Manawatu Tram Trust, in partnership with academe, technology
firms, transport operators, councils will work on progressively eliminating
carbon dioxide emissions from our public transport fleet, improving our air
quality through the use of sustainable technologies.
The Tram Trust will work alongside the community, transport operators and councils to improve uptake of public transport, reduce emissions and enhance sustainability to support the Green Manawatu vision.
We expect to provide the
following services to our community through our volunteers and staff:
- Facilitate building and deployment of
iconic, emission free trams for public transport in Manawatu
- Public transport route analysis and proposal development.
- Foster local technology innovation
and campus research.
- Assist with funding proposals and
grants.
- Public advocacy services.
- Environment assessments.
- Plan and manage implementation of
infrastructure.
